Pedi Ready

Spring is officially here and as the weather starts to get warmer, it’s time to start thinking about breaking out the sandals and espadrilles!  This season’s flip flops, wedges, and sandals boast designs that will show off your perfectly pedicured toes.  Here’s a look at some of our top picks for spring and summer...

Tory Burch is known for her sandals and every year the girl doesn't disappoint!  The "Thora" is a great updated version of the flip flop and is a wardrobe staple.  Both Amy Smart and Amanda Bynes have been spotted wearing a pair!  For a way to look fashionable while still staying comfortable, try the “Miller” thong sandal by Tory Burch.  This classic sandal is made with padding to add a little extra support.  The "Miller" has been seen on celebrities like Erin Andrews, Jaime Pressly, and even Gretchen from the Real Housewives of Orange County!  The navajo sandal by Jack Rogers has been around for a while and isn't going anywhere.  Every girl needs a pair of these go to sandals in her closet.  With metallic colors like platinum and gold, this sandal can be dressed up or down.

In addition to sandals and flip flops, the runways are also flooded with sky high espadrilles.  The "Palm Beach" espadrille by Michael Kors comes in gold and silver and with a price point of $98, it won't break the bank.  For those of you looking for a lower wedge, try the "Fabree" by Andre Assous.  We love the feminine bow detail on this shoe and also the fact that it incorporates both brown and black so it is extremely versatile.  Tory Burch takes us to new heights in both her "Fabian" espadrille and "Ace" high wedge sandal.

With these top shoe picks, your feet will be ready for spring and summer.  But are your toes pedi ready?  With this seasons fresh new nail trends we are having a hard time picking just one!  Some of the hottest color contenders are pistachio, tangerine, glitter, neon, blue, and what kind of spring would it be without floral painted nails?

Now the only question is which sandal or espadrille will you be wearing first?  With these top picks its a tough call.  Happy shopping!

The Cure for Spring Fever

It's that time of year again...the weather is getting warm, the birds are chirping, and the pollen is in full attack mode.  All of these factors add up to that inevitable feeling of 'spring fever' that makes us want to pack away our winter clothes and break out the fun spring dresses, shorts, and tops.  With bold prints and bright pops of color, you can easily update your spring wardrobe with a few essentials that will keep you on trend this season.

COLOR:  It's all about the colored denim this spring, say good bye to your blue jeans and try out a pair of bright red, pink, tangerine, green, or cobalt blue skinnys.  It might seem a little scary at first but once you slip on those lipstick red jeans you will be one step closer to spring.  DL1961 denim makes the perfect shade of green and tangerine skinny jeans and did we mention that they're made with lycra so the jeans mold to each individual's body shape?  They also have 90% shape retention so DL1961 denim won't stretch out or lose their shape.  Since colored denim is so, well...colorful, try pairing it with a top that will not compete with the jeans.  Blue denim or chambray button down shirts work well when paired with bright jeans.  Try a navy and white stripe blouse with red denim for a nautical look.  Or if you feel like taking a walk on the wild side, wear a black and white zebra print top with pink or green denim.

PRINTS:  Prints charming is here to stay!  Bold prints are popping up everywhere on blouses and maxi dresses this season.  BCBG has characterized their spring collection with aztec and geometric prints.  They use embroidery on their "Mara" blouse to add a tribal feel.  A bold aztec print is also seen with the BCBG "Arlenis" maxi dress.  Diane von Furstenberg is no stranger to prints and proves it with her "Whista" blouse and "Reina" dress.  When wearing a top or dress that has a bold print, keep it simple.  Try wearing white denim with a brightly printed top for a contrast.  In addition, when rockin a printed maxi dress keep your accessories simple so they don't compete with your dress which makes a statement of its own!

CROP:  Be the cream of the crop with cropped sweaters, tanks, and even cropped maxi dresses.  All of these styles are cut shorter in the front and longer in the back for a fun, flirty look.  Cropped sweaters are a great third piece to add to an outfit and are a wardrobe staple.  Throw on a cropped sweater over a maxi dress or try wearing it over a tank with denim shorts.  The "Stella" cropped sweater by Milly is a great oatmeal color that goes with everything and is a good transition piece for spring.  And don't forget about cropped tanks that are perfect with shorts for spring and summer!  One of our favorites is the BCBG "Edita" tank.
